11 suspected Internet fraudsters apprehended in Lagos

Operatives of the Lagos zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested 11 suspected Internet fraudsters in Lagos State.

A statement by the anti-graft agency’s spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspects were arrested on Monday, May 31, 2021, in the Alagbado area of the state following credible intelligence received by the commission about their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud.

The statement read in part, “The suspects are Nwomkiro Jude, Olukoya Timilehin, Akingbade Ayoboye, Adeolu Oluwajifemi, Nwankwo Michael, Kehinde Ajibola, Adesina Deji, Olalekan Abiola, Anthony Iwuji, Emeka Metuh and Oluwasegun Pelumi.

“Upon their arrest, items such as mobile devices, laptops and exotic cars were recovered from them.”

The statement added that the suspects would be charged as soon as investigations were concluded into their involvement.
