Oluyemi Kayode to Settle the Warriors and Giants Clash on Saturday

by Tajudeen Ahmad

For the third time in 3 weeks, the Oluyole Warriors will slug it out in the round of 64 of the 2019 AITEO/FA Cup after the draw by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) paired the two sides together again.

Recall that Shooting Stars and Osun United were paired together in group B1 of the 2019 Nigeria National League (NNL) Southern Conference and have met twice this season with the Oluyole Warriors proving their superiority over Omoluabi Giants by winning over the two legs.

While Osun United eased past Police FC by a lone goal to win the State of Osun AITEO/FA Cup, Oluyole Warriors spanked Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso by the same scoreline in the final played in April, this year.

Both Oluyole and Ajilete Warriors are sitting comfortably on top of their respective logs as they continue to bite the tooth and nail to return to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Meanwhile, Osun United are a struggling side at the moment, and are hopeful of getting out of the hook in the second round. The best performance of Osun United was in 2012 when the team won the bronze medal at the National level of the FA Cup.

Tagged “Giant killers” for defeating the likes of Enyimba, Kano Pillars among other best teams then, the Omoluabi Giants surrendered to Heartland FC of Owerri via penalty shootouts at the epic encounter played in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The 2019 FA Cup match between Osun United and Shooting Stars will hold on Saturday, 25th May, 2019 at a neutral venue in Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Can the Oluyole Warriors do the triple over Osun United or can The Omoluabi Giants avenge the recent back to back loss?
