DPR enforces sale of new fuel pump price in Katsina

The Department of Petroleum Resources Monday in Katsina embarked on surveillance visits to petrol stations in Katsina to check on compliance and to enforce the sale of petrol based on the new pump price of N125 as approved by Federal Government recently

The Acting Operation Controller for Katsina, Aminu Sanusi, told newsmen that the exercise which is expected to be extended to the 34 Local Government Areas and the boundaries, is not only meant to enforce the new price regime but to check other abuses by the marketers, including hoarding, diversion of the product and to check pump price differentials as often observed during dispensing product by filling stations.

He further disclosed that the surveillance operation is expected to cover both major and independent marketers selling the products in the state. Most stations visited were subjected to checks on compliance with the volume of liters sold, as measured with the use of cellophane jerry cans
