
The management of Osun State Broadcasting Corporation OSBC on Tuesday hosted the Corporation’s football Team, ‘OSBC Bombers’ as well as other winners of various categories of games and Awards at the 2022 Press Week of the Osun Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ to appreciate their performance.
Recall that OSBC won the football event of the NUJ Inter Chapel Sports competition after defeating Local Government Chapel by a lone goal in the final. Similarly, Oluchi Amuda and Ayodeji Akinloye emerged champions in Ludo and Table Tennis respectively while Muideen Adeleke won the Best Manager Award.


Similarly, Olusola Egbedofo won the Best Newscaster Award while Saheed Adeboje coasted home the Best Reporter Award (electronic).
Speaking at the brief reception which held at the board room of the Corporation and attended by all Directors as well as the Acting Chairman of OSBC Chapel of the NUJ Mr. Nathaniel Oyegoke, Director General of the Corporation, Rasheed Folaranmi commended the team and all award winners for representing the conglomerate well.
Folaranmi said “I must commend you for the massive victory recorded at this year’s NUJ Press Week. You did not only make us proud but ensuring that we are the leader not only in the aspect of news production but also in sports.
“You should all know that every success is a call for more service. I want you to keep the flag flying so as to sustain the feat to ensure that you win more medals and awards in the subsequent editions. I want to assure you that we will continue to support you with the required resources so that we can maintain the comparative advantage we have over others in sports,” said Mr. Folaranmi
In their remarks, the Director, News and Current Affairs, Akinola Owolabi, his colleagues from the Departments of Budget and Planning and Corporate Affairs, Tunde Oguntomi and Olusola Bolaji saluted the courage, dedication and perseverance of the team to emerge overall champions, saying this is a call to do more.
“You’ve demonstrated that you’re good ambassadors of OSBC conglomerate and we are all proud of you. This is a call for additional responsibility which you should always be ready to take up. We urge you to sustain the momentum so that we can repeat the feat next year. You should also ensure that you be on top in your various beats so that OSBC will remain the station to beat and maintain the Voice Of The West status.”
Earlier, the Director of Sports who doubles as the Manager of OSBC Bombers, Muideen Adeleke reeled out previous achievements of OSBC since 2017 when the maiden edition of the Inter Chapel sports competition was held. He said no other chapel has moved close to the level of OSBC in terms of number of victories and trophies won. He however expressed gratitude to the corporation for the support which according to him is the reason for the success.
“Since 2017, we have won the football event three times. This is a record that no other media organization in Osun has achieved. Meanwhile, this year’s performance was the best due to the support from the corporation and particularly the Director General, Mr. Folaranmi who provided the required logistics and assistance to participate in all categories. We assure you that we will not relax but work hard to continue to be the best among the rest,” concluded Adeleke.
Highpoint of the reception was the offer of good gesture to the football players and winners of other categories of awards as well as the official presentation of the trophy to the DG.
Meanwhile, there was recitation of the song composed by the Director General of OSBC, Mr. Folaranmi which according to him should be the anthem of the Corporation to be recited before every match. The song goes thus
