The Eminent Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Land joined a host of other distinguished personalities across Nigeria on Friday, 14th January, 2022 to felicitate Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State at her convocation ceremony.
The highly reputable monarch couldn’t contain his joy as he expressed his delight to have been a part of the combined convocation ceremony which witnessed the Conferment of First Higher Degrees and Honorary Degrees/Award of Prizes.
Oba Olabomi congratulated all the fresh graduates including his son ABDUL-Afeez saying this could have only been achieved through hardwork and diligence. He then charged them to uphold those positive characters which have brought them this far and put into appropriate use all they acquired during their academic year as they journey through life. “Continue to be good ambassadors of this great Institution, the State of Osun and Nigeria as a whole anywhere you find yourself. Contribute your quota to the growth of humanity with all you’ve learnt”, he said.
HRM Aragbiji then went ahead to appreciate the University management, members of staff and everyone who have contributed in one way or the other to the success of the newly graduated students and the University as a whole. He urged them not to relent in the discharge of their services as education is the best legacy we can handover to the next generation.
In a way to express his strong support for education and value for commitment and passion, Oba Olabomi awarded a handsome sum of amount to one of the best graduating students, a physically challenged male student.
Finally, Oba Olabomi thanked Almighty Allah for making the day a success and prayed that the University continues to experience rapid growth in every area and soon turn out to be a force to reckon with at the global level.
