Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Governor Adeleke To Lay The Symbolic Wreath Sunday

All is now set tomorrow morning for the grand finale of the year 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebrations in Osun state .

A statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government and the state Chairman , Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebrations Planning Committee, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye indicates that the Executive Governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke will personally grace the occasion as he leads the array of who is who in laying of the ceremonial wreaths at the grave of the unknown soldiers .

Venue of the occasion is the new military cenotaph located in front of Osun state House of Assembly complex along Osogbo- Gbongan road,Osogbo .

Hon. Igbalaye added that the state deputy governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, the Speaker of Osun state House of Assembly, Rt.Hon.Timothy Owoeye, the Chief Judge of Osun state, Hon.Justice Adepele Ojo, the Chief of Staff, Hon. Kazeem Akinleye and the state Head of Service, Mr Ayanleye Aina will also be in attendance to lay the symbolic wreaths .

Others to grace the grand finale of this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebrations in Osun state according to the release by Hon. Igbalaye are traditional rulers and other top notchers of the public including heads of governmental and non governmental organizations.

Members of the Nigeria legion and the families left behind by the fallen heroes will also be in attendance.
Highlight of the occasion which will be preceded by an inspection of guard of honour by Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adekeke will be the 21 symbolic gun salute by a combined contingent of the personnels of the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air force, Immigration,the Police and Civil Defence as a mark of respect and honour in memory of the gallant but dead soldiers.

In the meantime,the motoring and non motoring public especially private and commercial vehicle drivers have been enjoined to observe all necessary safety precautions tomorrow morning while commuting along the state House of Assembly complex during the period of the strictly military fanfares in honour of the fallen soldiers .
