

…declares zero tolerance for illegal schools

Local and Zonal Inspectors of Education have been charged to be proactive and dedicated in the cause of their duties so as to complement the efforts of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in repositioning the education sector in the state.
This is just as they were also urged to assist government in flushing out all substandard and illegal schools in the state in the interest of the innocent pupils and the state at large.
Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin made this known on Friday during a meeting with all the ZIEs and LIEs in the state.
Hon. Oladoyin while appreciating them for their hard work said they should not relent in their commitment to work so as to curb the proliferation of substandard private schools and sub human personnels.
The Commissioner who urged them to commence a sting operation against illegal schools across all local governments in the state assured them that the Ministry of Education is also ready to move out to make the operation more effective.
He said “We must do this for ourselves and for our children, we should not allow substandard schools to operate in our state and destroy what we are trying to build. The present administration is doing everything possible to improve the standard of education, we must not let some wicked individuals to derail that process.
“This is a task we must handle with all the seriousness it deserves, we must not spare any ilegal school in our state. The effect of substandard is dangerous for the future of our pupils, that’s why the Government needs you as stakeholders in this fight.
“As stakeholders, we must all work to redeem the image of the Ministry of Education and change people’s perspective of what they have about the ministry”. Bamisayemi stressed.
The commissioner while assuring the LIEs and ZIEs that funds will be made available for them said no illegal School should be spared during the process .
