Boy drowns in Kano pond

A boy, identified simply as Abdullahi, has drowned in a pond in Gadon Kayar, Kano State.

The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Seidu Ibrahim, stated this in a statement on Monday.

He noted that the fire service received a distress call from one Mallam Sadi Ibrahim around 3.31pm on Sunday that Abdullahi’s body was found floating in the pond.

The spokesman said officers retrieved the corpse and handed it over to the village head of Gadon Kayar, one Alhaji Aminu.

However, the circumstances that led to the incident had yet to be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
