BREAKING: Senate set to suspend plenary due to COVID-19

The Senate is presently in an executive session preparatory to suspend plenary.

The suspension of plenary has become necessary to curb the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19),” it was learnt.

According to an aide to one of the principal officers of the upper chamber, “the Senate has no choice but to suspend its legislative activities today.”

The Senate had last week suspended all public hearings, shut its gallery and ordered that all forms of visit to the Senate be stopped.
