The chief of army staff, LT Gen Tukur Buratai, has lamented that the government has continued to put a ceiling on the Nigerian Army’s budget.
He therefore called on the House of Representatives to prevail on the federal ministry of budget and National planning to remove the ceiling because of the ongoing reforms in the army.
The coas made the call in Abuja when he appeared before the house committee on army to defend the army’s 2019 budget proposal.
He said the army had for years struggled because of insufficient funding.
