Census 2023: Osun Govt Inaugurates Committee On Security and Logistics

The State Census Security and Logistics Committee to oversee the upcoming National {Population Census has been inaugurated by the Osun State Government.

The inauguration ceremony which was held in the Exco Lounge of the Governor’s Office was performed by the State helmsman, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

The Secretary to the State Government Honourable Teslim Igbalaye inaugurated the Committee on behalf of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Teslim Igbalaye, Governor Adeleke promised to support the Committee with all necessary assistance for the successful conduct of 2023 Census.

While thanking all the Service Chiefs for their prompt response to security challenges in the State before, during and after the election, the Governor charged them to do more for the State and for entire nation as a whole, adding that the State Government will give full support to the Committee in order to enable it perform the assignment efficiently and effectively.

The Committee in which Mr. Governor is the Chairman, also has the State Scribe, Alhaji Teslim and the National Population Commission (NPC), Federal Commissioner, Senator Mudashiru Hussain as co-chairmen,while Mr. Owoye Martins is designated to serve as Secretary to the Committee.

In his remarks Senator Mudashiru Hussain stated that the Commission attaches great importance to the work of the Security and Logistics Committee in it’s quest to give Nigeria a credible, reliable and acceptable Census data for national planning.

He promised that the Commission will, without delay, oragnize workshop on processes and methodologies for the Census in order to get the stakeholders adequately mobilized for the assignment.
