Court Reinstates APC Chairman

A high court in Yola, Adamawa State, has reinstated Ibrahim Bilal as the state chairman of All Progressives Congress.

The court, however, stopped Hon Smaila Tadawu from further parading himself as chairman.

Mr Ismaila Tawadu was installed as chairman on Monday after the purported removal of Billal by the members of the party’s State Working Committee.

Justice Musa Usman issued the order of interim injunctions on Thursday pending the hearing of the motion on notice, filed by Ibrahim Bilal, challenging his alleged removal by some members of the state working committee, who thereafter announced, his deputy, Samaila Tadawus, as the new acting chairman of the party in the state.

Mr Ibrahim Bilal, reinstatement as the APC, party chairman, by the court, is coming on the heels of the suit filed at the state high court challenging his sack by some members of the State working Committee of the party, following a vote of no confidence against him by 14 out 36 members of the state working committee.

The order of the interim injunction restrained all parties by themselves, their servants, agents, privies or any other persons from taking any step further in removing the plaintiff from office.

The order, granted by Justice Musa was brought under 10 rule 7 of the Adamawa High Court.
The case stands adjourned till 14th September 2022 for a hearing on the motion on notice.
