Elections: Adamawa Governor Charges Military On Professionalism

Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri has charged Nigerian military to remain focused and determined to continue in confronting emerging challenges ahead of next month’s elections.

He also commended the resilience and doggedness of the armed forces in their efforts to secure the state and create an environment for peaceful elections.

The governor made the remarks during the 2022 West African Social Activities organised by the 23 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Yola, the Adamawa state capital.

The activities, which took place at Gibson Jalo Cantonment, are an annual event held by the Army to mark the completion of training and includes social and cultural displays as well as musical performances and regimental activities by the troops and their families.

Fintiri, who doubled as the special guest at the event, was represented by his deputy, Crowther Seth.

The Commander of the 23 Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Gambo, highlighted how efforts of the military had decreased security threats and rekindled confidence on the public in their area of operation.

Fintiri applauded the efforts of the troops in fostering synergy and collaboration with other security agencies, leading to a peaceful atmosphere ahead of next month’s general elections.

Officers and their family members jointly participated in several social activities including cultural dances, a tug of war, and sack race. Awards were also presented to outstanding officers.
