Elections: Tinubu Wins In Ekiti

The All Progressives Congress (APC) standard bearer Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was yesterday declared the winner of Saturday’s presidential poll in Ekiti.

Tinubu polled 201, 484 votes to defeat other candidates in the election, held across the 16 local government areas of the Fountain of Knowledge State.

The Presidential Election Collation Officer for Ekiti, Prof. Akeem Lasisi, who announced the result at the INEC Headquarters in Ado-Ekiti, later presented the result to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu at the National Collation Centre in Abuja.

He said that a total of 988, 923 voters registered in the state.

Lasisi, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orangun, Osun State, said that 314, 472 out of the 315, 058 accredited voters cast their ballot.
