The Osun State Caretaker Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Prince Gboyega Famodun, has commended the state Governor Gboyega Oyetola, for his series of performance in government which has culminated into his clinching of Blueprint Newspaper’s 2020 Governor of The Year Award.
The Osun State APC helmsman in a statement through his Media Aide, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo, during the weekend, disclosed that the inewspaper award which was the third within a short time is a product of the ceaseless hardwork and quality governance being delivered to the people of the state by the workaholic governor who has no time for mundane issues.
Famodun stated further that the continuous bright showing of Governor Oyetola is an indication that some endowed technocrats are real blessing to politics and politicking.
He hinted that despite the obvious paucity of funds, the way and manner the state governor has been triumphing in the execution of his people-oriented programmes has been a source of case studies for discerning both corporate and individual members of the society.
Famodun who spoke metaphorically remarked that if a blacksmith is ceaselessly hitting a metal on a spot, it’s for a remarkable purpose, observed that the continuous awards for the governor by some notable corporate bodies like the Blueprint Newspaper, is a pointer to the fact that the governor is doing some things impressively different from his peers.
The state party chairman recalled how Oyetola has been impacting positively on all the spheres of endeavours in the state without necessarily being loud.
In his words: “One unique quality worthy of emulation from the governor by whoever is targeting success in public office is absolute refusal to be distracted either by opposition within or from outside.
“He is focused, daring and without knack for entertaining frivolous activities that have no bearing with his set goal.
“Let me, on behalf of my family and all the members of the APC in Osun State, congratulate the entire people of our state for having a personality like Oyetola as our governor during this period in the history of the nation.
“It is not that the opposition parties in the state are not aware of the superlative performance of Governor Oyetola in the office, but they are merely criticising in order to justify a common saying that, ‘one’s enemy does not kill a juicy grasscutter’.
“Let me make a clarion call to all the members of our party across the state that it is important for us to form ourselves into the ambassadors of our party and preach the good works of Governor Oyetola to the people”, Famodun stated.
Governor Oyetola was presented with the award by the Etsu Nupe, who doubled as the Royal Father of the Day on the occasion, Dr. Yahaya Abubakar, at the Blueprint Impact Series Awards, held in Abuja with fanfare last Thursday.
This is coming barely seven days after the governor won the Champion Newspaper’s Man of the Year and Governor of the Year 2020 awards.
lt would be recalled that Business Day Newspaper had also, in February, crowned Oyetola as its Governor of the Year.
