Father’s Day: Obaseki pledges decent jobs for men

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has said his administration will continue to pursue programmes and reforms that will translate into decent employment for men.

He said this in a statement on Sunday to commemorate this year’s Father’s Day.

The governor praised fathers for their resilience and sense of responsibility, noting that some fathers even took menial jobs to ensure that the needs of their families were met.

He said, “Today’s celebration presents yet another opportunity to appreciate fathers for their sacrifices, love and unflinching commitment to family and society.

“Edo State is blessed to have fathers who have sired children and raised them up to effectively represent the state nationally and in the Diaspora

“They have shone brightly, conquering several odds to be the super humans they are, in the face of uncertain economic terrains and work culture. But as a government, we will not relent in pursuing policies and reforms to attract more investors that will ensure that fathers get opportunities to be engaged in decent means of livelihood and cater for their families.”
