The Osun State born Nigerian Professor and Provost, West Coast University International, California, USA, Dr. Kolapo Ige has described the approval of the Federal College of Education (FCE) to be sited in Iwo as a good gesture from the Governor State of Osun, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, saying the gesture will forever be remembered in the record book of the State of Osun.
Speaking from his base in California, USA to our reporters, the distinguished Eminent International Professor of Economics also appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for choosing Osun as one of the beneficiary states from the six colleges approved for the 6 geo political zones in Nigeria.
“I am glad to hear that the FCE has been approved to be sited in Iwo after a fierce struggle for some time. I therefore appreciate Mr. President and our amiable Governor Gboyega Oyetola for giving the nod to the establishment of the college at Osun West. I also congratulate the Oluwo of Iwo and all of us at the Osun West senatorial district with a charge to see it as a property that should be protected and lifted up high,” said the Professor of Economics and Management
Speaking on the need for the establishment of Colleges of Education, Professor Ige added that “with more and more occupations requiring advanced education, a college degree is critical and germane to success in today’s workforce. It is a veritable medium of ‘training the trainers’ whose activities in human and capacity building are sacrosanct.” concluded the President of Kolagafrimerican Institute of Scientific Research, USA.
Professor Ige is a native of Ogbagbaa- Iwo, State of Osun. He holds a Masters’ Degree in Economics and Applied Economics with specialization in Empirical Labour Economics and Econometrics and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Management with concentration in Finance from Akamai University, Hilo, United States of America.
