Federal Government Shares 1.9 Trillion Naira Among States…

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS DISCLOSED THAT IT HAS SO FAR SHARED 1.9 TRILLION AMONG STATES AS SUPPORT FROM THE PARIS CLUB REFUND

THE VICE PRESIDENT, PROF. YEMI OSINBAJO MADE THE DISCLOSURE IN HIS ADDRESS AT THE ON-GOING FOURTH EDITION OF THE OGUN INVESTORS FORUM IN ABEOKUTA.

PROFESSOR OSINBAJO SAID THAT PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI’S ADMINISTRATION HAS CONTINUED TO EXTEND EQUAL AND UNBIASED SUPPORT TO STATES OF THE FEDERATION REGARDLESS OF PARTY AFFILIATIONS ADDING THAT IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO POINT TO ANY GOVERNMENT THAT HAD BEEN MORE SUPPORTIVE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE AMBITIONS OF STATES AS THE PRESENT ADMINISTRATION.

RECALLING THAT NO FEWER THAN 26 OF THE 36 STATES IN NIGERIA COULD NOT THE SALARIES OF THEIR WORKERS WHEN THE PRESENT ADMINISTRATION ASSUMED POWER IN 2015, THE VICE PRESIDENT EXPLAINED THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HOWEVER, CAME TO THEIR RESCUE BY EXTENDING FUNDS TO THEM.

HE ADDED THAT THE PRESENT ADMINISTRATION HAS BEEN ABLE TO REVERSE THE TREND OF CORRUPTION AND UNDER FUNDING OF INFRASTRUCTURE THAT EXISTED IN THE COUNTRY WHEN IT ASSUMED POWER IN 2015.
