Firefighters hand over corpse of woman found in Kano apartment to police

A 25-year-old woman, identified as Humaira Abubakar, was on Tuesday found dead in a self-contained apartment in Kano.

The Public Relations Officer, Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident, said the agency received a distress call from one Kabiru Abdullahi of Danbare New Site, Babban Layi, around 3.05pm alerting it of the discovery.

A statement made available to newsmen said upon the receipt of the information, fire fighters on standby duty immediately rushed to the scene.

‘’On arrival, 20 minutes later, the unconscious victim was rushed to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital for medical attention, but she was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty and the corpse handed over to ASP Salisu Gado of the Dorayi Babba Police Division, Kano.’’
