The Olojudo of Ido Osun, Oba Adedapo Aderemi Sapoyoro the first has praised the performance of Ido Osun based NLO 1 club, Hammola Int’l FC for its efforts at taking many youth off the street, polishing their talents and building their careers to be future stars.
The foremost Monarch also lauded the Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) of the club, Odeyemi Muhydeen Oladele for his initiative at establishing a football club in Ido Osun which has put the town in the map of the world.
Oba Adedapo stated this in his palace while addressing the management and players of Hammola Int’l FC who paid a courtesy visit to him.
The sports loving monarch, who was a former President, Rugby Association of Nigeria said he was always happy to hear good news about Hammola FC and several feats recorded by the team particularly this year, adding that he remains the number one fan of the club.
“I have been following Hammola since 2020 and I am happy with the news about the club always. It’s a great honour that the club, owned by my son, Muhydeen is based in Ido Osun and we are all happy to be associated with it.
“Sports nowadays is not just a game but a platform to get to the podium of success legitimately. This is why I praise Muhydeen for the initiative which will make stars like Okocha, Kanu, Ronaldo and many more be produced from our town.
Earlier in their remarks, the General Manager of the Club who doubles as Osun State GFCC Chairman, Coach Adeleke Adediran Hamzat and the CEO, Muhydeen Odeyemi popularly known as ‘Odhelee’ thanked the monarch, chiefs and the entire people of Ido Osun for their support and moral contributions to the club and promised to be good ambassadors of the town and Osun State in general. The duo also made a request of plots of land to enable the club have a befitting football pitch, hostel for players, gym among others..
Reacting, Oba Adedapo who was happy to hear this said he, as a sports lover, veteran rugby and yoga lover also has a plan to build a game village in Ido Osun was working to build an ultra modern game village in Odo Osun and has made a request to the state government for the land. He said he would love to partner with Hammola when the request is approved by the state government as this would help to develop the town rapidly and facilitate more developmental projects to Ido Osun.
Highpoint of the courtesy visit was the royal, Islamic, Christianity and traditional blessings for Hammola FC, the management, coaches, players, fans and supporters of the club.
