Four suspected Internet fraudsters nabbed in Benue

Four members of a syndicate of suspected Internet fraudsters have been arrested by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Makurdi, Benue State.

The suspects are Gideon Damisa, Sunday James, Friday Ebosele and Deborah Okiemute.

The Head of Media and Publicity, EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement on Tuesday, said the suspects were arrested on Saturday, May 1, 2021, following an intelligence report on their alleged criminal activities around the Makurdi metropolis.

According to Uwujaren, a Mercedes Benz GLK 350 2010 model, one iPhone, two Pro Max, two Infinix phones and Automated Teller Machine cards, among others, were recovered from the principal suspect, Damisa.

He added that they would soon be charged.
