The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that no fewer than 15 players have arrived camp ahead of the country’s international friendly matches against African champions Algeria and Tunisia.
The Super Eagles will face the Desert Foxes and Carthage Eagles at the Jacques Lemans Arena in Austria on October 9 and 13 respectively.
According to the NFF media team, Leganes defender Kenneth Omeruo, FC Nantes forward Moses Simon, Simon Kalu, Leon Balogun and new invitees Chidera Ejuke and Mathew Yakubu were among the early arrivals at the team’s Hotel die Zeit an der Glan in Austria on Monday.
Also in camp are England-based stars William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, Ola Aina, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho. Returnee Dele Alampasu, Jamilu Collins, Frank Onyeka and Genk forward Cyril Dessers complete the number of players in camp.
It is the first time that Eagles’ coach Gernot Rohr will be having his squad together this year due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Other players expected in camp are Maduka Okoye, Chidozie Awaziem, Zaidu Sanusi, Mikel Agu, Tyronne Ebuehi, Samson Tijani, Ahmed Musa, Paul Onuachu and Samuel Chukwueze.
Rohr will be without midfielder duo Oghenekaro Etebo and Wilfred Ndidi and striker Victor Osimhen for both matches.
The Eagles last played the Foxes July 14, 2019, in the semi-final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation, which they lost 2-1, but went on to beat Tunisia 1-0 in the third-place match three days later.
