Gunmen Invade Kogi Community, Kill Chairman

Tragedy struck on Sunday when a yet-to-be-identified gunmen stormed oganienugu community in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State and killed several villagers.

It was gathered that the hoodlums entered the village in the middle of the night on Sunday and started shoot sporadically and indiscriminately.

Our Correspondent also gathered that the ward Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Hon James Adah, was among those shot dead.

While reacting to the development, the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, called for calm over the attack.

He said that the attacks was shocking, adding that “government will never bow to the machinations of heartless elements in its resolves to rid the state of criminals.”

He commiserates with the people in Oganenigu, particularly the family of the slain Oganenigu APC ward chairman, Hon James Adah and others affected by the “ugly and unfortunate attack” while urging the people to remain calm.

He, however, advised the people not to take laws into their hands as security agencies have been swiftly mobilized and deployed to the troubled areas to restore normalcy.
