Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in the State of Osun, Hon. Yemi Lawal has felicitated with Christians in the state and Nigeria as a whole on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebrations.

Hon. Lawal, in his message to workers in the ministry, the youth as well as all agencies under the Ministry of Youth and Sports describes the death and resurrection of Jesus as a sign of hope that the State, the country and the entire world will overcome every challenge, particularly the global Coronavirus pandemic.

“We are grateful to God for the opportunity to be alive to celebrate this year’s Easter. It’s not by our making but by the Grace of Lord who spares our lives during this period.”

“As we celebrate Easter today, I want to urge all of us not to despair but to use this period of death and resurrection of Jesus to pray God to end the ravaging disease.”

“Meanwhile as all activities remain suspended pending further directive from the state government, I want to urge all our players and athletes to be modest in the celebration and steer clear of dangers because all sporting activities resume immediately after the lockdown”, stated Hon. Lawal
