IG visits Aregbesola

Governor state of Osun Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has identified with the inspector general of police in the country Mr Ibrahim Idris for using his platform in maintaining peace and stability in the country.


Ogbeni Aregbesola stated this while receiving the country’s police inspector general at his official residence who was on a courtesy visit
Governor Aregbesola who represented at the event by his deputy Mrs titi laoye Tomori acknowledged and commended the Nigeria police for preserving and protecting the nations peaceful coexistence from being truncated by bandits and marauders in some parts of the country.
He tasked the inspector general of police not to relent in the onerous task of making Nigeria conducive for habitation.
The governor while appreciating the inspector general of police for complimenting the investment of his government on security by approving the release of a chopper to be stationed in Osun meant for surveiling every nook and cranny in the southwestern part of the country charged the Inspector general of police to assist the state government in curtailing the dastardly act of kidnapping for ransom which is gradually becoming a recurring decimal.
In his response the inspector general of police Mr Ibrahim Idris thanked Mr governor for the reception adding that he was in the state of Osun to attend a seminar on the role of election stakeholders on peaceful and credible poll in Osun tagged Osun security summit.
The governor was later presented with a gift by the inspector general of police Mr Ibrahim Idris.
Similarly governor rauf aregbesola also received the US ambassador to Nigeria Mr Stuart Symington in his residence.
The Us ambassador to Nigeria was on a courtesy visit to deliberate extensively with Mr governor on how to ensure the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state is peaceful credible and acceptable.
He urged all participants to play the game of politics according to its dictate and to eschew all form of violence, acrimony and bitterness before during and after the election.
Governor Aregbesola while responding said as election is critical to the survival of any Democratic government in the world, his administration is ready to consolidate on the peaceful atmosphere which was achieved in past election in the state to record huge success in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
