The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has debunked claims by the Director-General, Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Major General Garba Wahab (retd.), that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, was not in control of the Force.
Wahab, who was a guest at a breakfast programme of Channels Television, claimed the Police boss may have lost control of the Force following the seeming refusal of police personnel across the country to get back to duty as a result of the EndSARS protests.
Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Frank Mba, debunked the claims in a press statement titled: Workings of The NPF: IGP is in Firm Control; Rtd Major General Garba Wahab’s Position Clearly Wrong; Spoke On Issues Outside His Area of Core Competence, Says IGP, Tuesday in Abuja.
It read in part: “The attention of the Nigeria Police Force has been drawn to comments and reactions during an interview session on Channels TV Sunrise Daily program of 13th November, 2020 where one Major General Garba Wahab (retd.) commented that “…rather than improving the improvement (sic) …the IGP is sitting down there with all the paraphernalia of office deprived of actually having control of police… he is not in control.
