The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, is currently presiding over a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
Also present at the meeting are the National Commissioners, the Secretary to the Commission, the Technical Team to the Chairman, and Directors.
The meeting is holding hours after two offices of the Commission located in Ebonyi and Ezza North Local Government Areas of Ebonyi State were set ablaze by unidentified persons.
No casualties were recorded but there were extensive damages to the building and facilities.
The attack brings the number of offices of the Commission that have been torched to 23.
It was gathered on Monday that INEC will also be meeting with heads of security agencies today over the attacks on its offices.
