The state returning officer, for the governorship election in Imo State, Mr. Francis Chukwuemeka Otonta has announced the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Emeka Ihedioha, winner of the governorship election.
According to the state returning officer, while giving the summary of the exercise in the twenty seven local government areas in the state, Ihedioha of the PDP, won the election with the total votes of 273,404 to defeat other candidates in the race.
He stated further
that other governorship candidates such as the Action Action party, AA with his
flag bearer Mr Uche Nwosu, got 190,364, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume of the All
Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, polled 114,676; while Accord Party, AP, Ikedi Ohakim, scored
6,846.
