Judgement: Ooni, Ataoja Congratulate Governor Adeleke

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his victory at the Supreme Court which affirmed his election.

A congratulatory statement signed by Ooni’s spokesperson, Moses Olafare, then urged Adeleke to develop a robust partnership with the Federal government in the interest of the Osun people.

The royal father also advised Adeleke to be magnanimous in victory and lead with integrity, wisdom, and compassion.

The statement read in parts, “The House of Oduduwa is thrilled to extend her heartfelt congratulations to you on your remarkable and well-deserved victory as declared by the esteemed Supreme Court of Nigeria. This momentous ruling is a triumph for democracy and the will of the Good People Of The State Of Osun.

“The people of the state have placed their trust in you, and we have no doubt that you will work tirelessly to fulfil the aspirations and dreams of citizenry. Your passion for public service, your vision for progress, and your unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people will undoubtedly guide you in the path ahead.

In the same vein, Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II ati the Palace has described the victory as a deserved one and a testimony that Governor Adeleke was validly elected during the July 16, 2022 election.

The monarch, who stated this while welcoming the Governor and his entourage to his palace assured him of his continued support saying that the palace is a bedrock of support for the state government.
He stressed that as father of all and custodian of culture, Obas cannot be politician but can recommend credible individuals for public office.
He said people of Osogbo stood by him and celebrated his victory by closing the traditional Oja Oba market.
Oba Olanipekun called on the state government to deploy necessary civil servants from the local government to run the administration and smooth running of the day-to-day operations of the Palace.

He lauded the Governor for regular payment of salaries and emoluments of active and retired workers since he became the Governor of Osun State
He enjoined all stakeholders to ensure that dividend of democracy reach all and Sundry.
