Lagos LG chair dies at LASUTH

The Chairman of the Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, Abulfatai Oyesanya, aka Oyesco, is dead.

it was reveal that the Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, indigene died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, on Tuesday.

He was said to have been battling with an undisclosed illness since December 2019 before passing away.

The Deputy Chairman of the LCDA, Abolanle Onikosi, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone.

“Yes. It is true. He died at LASUTH. He was a good man, who did his best for the council while he was the chairman. He will be sorely missed,” Onikosi added.

Our correspondent learnt that the septuagenarian was re-elected for a second term on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in 2017 after his first term in 2011.

He was buried in his hometown around 7pm on Tuesday in accordance with Islamic rites.

It was learnt that the funeral, which was attended by some party faithful and council workers, was led by the Chief Imam of Ijebu Ode, Sheikh Miftaudeen Ayanbadejo.

The deceased is survived by a wife and four children.
