
Justice Hakeem Oshodi of the Lagos State High Court has sentenced a convict, Shola Agboola to 21 years’ imprisonment for armed robbery.
Agboola was arraigned on four counts bordering on armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and assault.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
During the trial, the prosecutor, Olabisi Ogungbesan, presented four witnesses and tendered five exhibits.
Ogungbesan urged the court to convict the defendant accordingly.
She noted that the testimonies of the witnesses and the five exhibits tendered before the court confirmed that the defendant committed the crime.
Justice Oshodi held that the evidence provided by the prosecution was credible and compelling.
He subsequently sentenced Agboola to 21 years’ imprisonment.
