Nigeria Startup Act: FG, Osun Govt Hold Stakeholders’ Meeting

Federal Government, through the National Startup Act, NSA, Secretariat and Osun State Government today hold a stakeholders’ forum on the adoption and domestication of the Nigeria Startup Act.

Recall that the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke while receiving Members of the Osun House of Assembly in his office earlier in year revealed his plan to transmit an executive bill on the Nigeria Startup Act to the House.

The Governor while receiving a draft of the act at event by the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology to mark his 100 days in office, maintained that the he is committed to taking steps that will reposition the strategically and improve its economy.

The Nigeria Startup Act is a national policy framework that seeks to create an enabling environment for technology-enabled startups and entrepreneurs in Nigeria.

The Act provides for establishing innovation hubs, startup fund, technology parks, and other support structures that will help startups thrive in the Nigerian economy.

Expected stakeholders at the event are Tech Entrepreneurs, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises.

Others are Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative, Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources and Capacity Building, Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Ministry of finance, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Special Needs.
