Nigeria will deepen collaboration with Zambia —Buhari

The President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, promised that Nigeria and Zambia will deepen their collaboration for the benefit of both countries and Africa.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, disclosed this in a statement titled ‘President Buhari pledges better collaboration with Zambia.’

According to the statement, Buhari spoke while hosting a special envoy of the Zambian President, Edgar Lungu, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Adesina quoted the President as saying that “the two countries would explore areas of collaboration for the good of their peoples, and benefit of the African continent.”

The statement also quoted Lungu, who was represented by Zambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Joseph Malanji, as advocating stronger bilateral relations and higher momentum for the Joint Commission of Cooperation between the two countries.

Malanji further expressed gratitude to Nigeria for her “big brother role in ECOWAS and the African continent,” emphasising that “equity is when strong ones strengthen the weak ones.”
