No stand-out players in Eagles –Blackface

Nigeria: Amidst Corruption Allegations, Fresh Look At Keshi's 2014 Super Eagles World Cup Squad - allAfrica.com

Nigerian singer, Augustine Ahmedu, popularly known as Blackface, says the Super Eagles lack outstanding individual players.

Despite parading some of the continent’s best players in Wilfred Ndidi, Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Alex Iwobi, and Belgian league goal machine, Paul Onuachu, Blackface insists that the Eagles are not fantastic individually.

“In this current Eagles, everyone is on the same level, there is no particular player that stands out,” Blackface said on OSBC Online sports programme, Stars Talk Football.

“There are no stand-out players like the times of Austin Okocha. When you see Okocha in a game you’d know that something’s about to happen but now that spark is missing nobody in the current Eagles can make something happen out of nothing.”

The former Plantashun Boiz band member also said the Eagles needed a visionary coach to steer the team back to the glory days.

“The Eagles need a coach with a vision to lead the team back to where they should be. The squad has lots of young talents, but they lack a visionary coach to lead them,” he added.
