Ogun community plans Oro rites

The traditional ruler of Ibafo in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State has announced that the Oro rites will hold in the town from Thursday, February 11, till Saturday, February 13, 2021.

In a statement on Sunday, the monarch said the rites would hold from midnight till 3am each day, adding that residents of the town should stay indoors during the stipulated time.

The statement read, “There are going to be an Oro rites in Ibafo on February 11, 12 and 13 from midnight till 3am daily. Please, our members should be indoors during these hours and if you know that you can’t get home before that time, please stay wherever you are.”

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said, “Nobody has informed us of any Oro rites.”
