A suspected armed robber, Rotimi Ojugbele, has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command on the Ilaro-Owode Yewa Road while allegedly coming from a robbery.

It was gathered that the suspect was arrested when the Ilaro Divisional Police Officer, CSP Olayemi Jacob, led his men on a patrol around 6.30am on Monday.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement.

Oyeyemi explained that two suspected robbers were on a motorcycle with a bag.

The PPRO said when accosted for stop and search, one of them took to his heels, while the other was quickly apprehended.

“On searching the bag found with them, the following items were found: one double-barrelled locally-made pistol, one single-barrelled locally-made pistol, nine live cartridges, one Samsung Galaxy S8, two small Intel phones without SIM cards, two wraps of weed suspected to be Indian hemp, one white wristwatch and a cash sum of N460,” he added.
