Ondo shuts hotel suspected to be kidnappers’ den

The Ondo State Government has shut a popular hotel in Akure over the rising insecurity in the state.

The Imperial Hotel located on Ilaje Street in the Ijapo area of the capital city was suspected to be housing kidnappers.

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on Special Duties, Doyin Odebowale, disclosed this on Monday.

The state government’s action came barely a week after a popular night club in the town known as Bola Komo was shut for similar reason.

Odebowale explained that the decision of the government became imperative because the affected hotel had allegedly become a security risk to the residents of the Akure Community.

He said, “The state government would not allow any hotel to use its facilities as den of criminals.”
