Ondo teachers get N47.6m car loan

Primary school teachers in Ondo State on Thursday received cheques for car loan worth N47.6m.

The car loan was given to the teachers at one digit interest rate.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who presented the cheques to the teachers at the government house in Akure, said more teachers would benefit as soon as the purse of the state became bouyant

Akeredolu encouraged the teachers to guard against every form of abuse and corrupt practices.

Akeredolu informed the teachers that arrangements have been made to employ more teachers as soon as possible

Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Sunday Adeleye hailed the Governor for ensuring the loan is available

Comrade Adeleye said the teachers were happy for the gesture.

One of the beneficiaries, Comrade Willie Famuwagun described the step as the first since the creation of the state in 1976.
