One dead in Osun road accident

One dead, four injured in Osun auto crash - Vanguard News

A lone road accident in Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Tuesday, claimed one life, while another person was injured.

Also, in the accident which occurred in Ogo-Oluwa Area, along Osogbo/Gbongan road, the vehicle involved was badly damaged.

The deceased, a female was said to have died on the spot as the vehicle lost control, veered off the road and ran into some iron rods kept beside the road.

Agnes Ogungbemi, the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Osun Sector Command, confirmed the accident.

She said the accident was caused by speed violation and urged motorists to avoid act that could put life of other road users in danger.

Ogungbemi said, “Two people were involved. A male and a female. The deceased is a female. It is a lone accident and speed violation was suspected as probable cause.

“The victim has been taken to the hospital for treatment. FRSC rescue team had cleared traffic along the road.”
