One dies, three injured in Anambra multiple crash

One person on Wednesday died while three others sustained serious injuries in a multiple motor accident along Owerri-Onitsha expressway, Obosi, Anambra state.

The accident, which occurred at Obosi by flyover around 6.30am, involved three articulated vehicles.

A trader in the area who witnessed the accident, attributed it to loss of control.

Confirming the incident, State Sector Commander, Andrew Kumapayi said the victims were rushed to the hospital, while the corpse deposited at the mortuary by a good Samaritan.

He said: “Three vehicles and six male adults were involved in the crash which claimed the life of one person and three others sustaining different degrees of injury.

“The vehicles involved include; Daf Truck with reg no. NNE733XA, an Iveco Truck with reg no. RRN733XA and a Dangote Truck, which plate number was removed before the arrival of FRSC rescue team.

“Meanwhile, clearing of obstruction and traffic control is ongoing at the scene.”

While condoling with the deceased family, Kumapayi wished the victims speedy recovery.
