One feared murdered by cultists in Lagos

A young man known as Awo has been feared killed at Oyeborode street, Ketu-Ikosi Road, Lagos State.

The young man in his 20s was shot by some suspected cultists who attacked the area, stole some phones and money, and fired shots in the air before disappearing in different directions.

Residents in the area said the atmosphere had been tensed since afternoon as rumours filtered in of a reprisal from cultists in the area as one of their gang members was reportedly killed by a rival group.

“In search of the killer, they came and they shot the wrong person,” one Obinze said.

An eyewitness said, “We were just there drinking and gisting and we saw some armed young men come out, attacked us, collected some phones.

“They cut his hands and shot him four times.”
