Operation Akpakwu uncovers arms manufacturing firm in Cross River

A security outfit, Operation Akpakwu, set up by Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, has discovered a factory where pistols are manufactured in Uyanga, in the Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State.

Some locally-made pistols, known as ‘Akwa made’ were allegedly found in the factory.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo, confirmed the report, adding that arrests had been made.

Operation Akpakwu was set up on December 3, 2020 by Ayade to curb armed robbery, kidnapping and other acts of criminality in Cross River State.
