Ortom demand Nasarawa LG chair’s apology over attack

The Benue State  Governor,   Samuel Ortom, has   said the Keana Local Government Area Chairman, Adamu  Adii, was  trying to sabotage his efforts and that of  his  Nasarawa  counterpart, Abdullahi Sule, at bringing peace to border communities.

Adii had accused the governor of harbouring a group of person  that always attack and kill Fulani herdsmen in Benue State.

Ortom in a statement by Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, however, demanded an apology, saying he and his counterpart in Nasarawa  State had met many times and held peace meetings.

The statement read, “The Keana chairman was at one of the meetings; so, we found what he said to be either a mischief or a deliberate attempt to sabotage the peace efforts been made by his own governor and our governor.”

While stating that the governor never for once harbour any group that attacked and killed Fulani herdsmen, Akase said the council boss must apologise for the uncomplimentary remarks against Ortom.
