
An Osogbo-Born Elder Statesman, Baba Wale Lasisi is dead,
According to the report, the Osogbo born grassroot politician died in the early hours of Tuesday due to an old-age-illness.
The astute political leader, who had held several political offices at the local, state and national levels was a strong member of the Osun State All Progressive Congress (APC}
The octogenarian educationist was from Aworo compound in Isale-Osun Osogbo, and was a strong political leader in Olorunda and Osogbo local governments.
Reacting, the senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District at the National assembly who doubles as the Senate spokesperson, Dr. Ajibola Basiru in his condolence message described late Lasisi as a thoroughbred progressive who lived an exemplary life.
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Osun Central Senatorial District, I commiserate with you, and the family of Baba Wale Lasisi, on the demise of our dear father, leader and a foremost Osogbo indigene, Alhaji Wale Lasisi.
“Baba Wale, a foremost educationist and an avid supporter and promoter of Osogbo interest, was an epitome of good virtues and a thoroughbred progressive. Baba was a disciplinarian who did not hide his displeasure at transgressions from anybody, no matter how highly placed. His dedication to the development of our hometown, Osogbo, is both commendable and enviable.
“Like a colossus that he was, Baba traversed the political terrain of Osun State with unequalled passion for growth and development. Till he breathed his last, he was a progressive to the core and a dye in the wool Awoist who, under numerous trying circumstances, stood firm in support of the progressive family in Osun State. We are surely going to miss him” said Basiru in a statement he personally signed.
