Osun 2022: OSBC Mobilizes Staff for Election, Charges them to be Professional

The Management of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation’ has enjoined staff of the corporation deployed across the state to cover the election to discharge their duty thoroughly and professionally.

Director General of the Corporation, Rasheed Folaranmi gave the advice while addressing the staff at the premises of the corporation on Saturday.

Represented by the Director of News and Current Affairs, Radio Department, Abimbola Babatunde, the DG charged all reporters to ensure that all activities about the election in their respective polling area should be covered and adequately reported.

He maintained that the corporation is known for adequate reportage of activities, saying the full recording of event should be done and protected.

Mr. Folaranmi also urged them to be security conscious and follow the guidelines laid down for the coverage of election activities during the two-day seminar conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) a few weeks ago.

Also speaking, the Director of News and Current Affairs, Television, Akinola Owolabi warned all reporters against declaring result of any polling unit as this is vested on the INEC. He similarly urged them to collect necessary document which is properly signed by the INEC at the declaration of the election.

At the end of the briefing all staff on duty were mobilized and given necessary materials required for the proper coverage of the poll.

Earlier on Friday at the editorial meeting of News and Current Affairs attended by reporters, cameramen, drivers, engineer among others, all of them were urged to work together harmoniously so as to have a perfect coverage and reportage of activities across the state
