Osun Assembly Election: Irekandu Re-Elected At Obokun State Constituency

The lawmaker representing Obokun State Constituency at the Osun State House Assembly, Hon.Adewumi Adeyemi who was also the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Saturday’s election has been declared winner by the Independent National National Electoral Commission.

The Returning Officer for Obokun Local Government, made the announcement at the Collation centre located at the INEC Local Government headquarters,Ada/Ikirun Road, Ibokun.

The Returning Officer announced that the PDP candidate Hon.Adewumi Adeyemi scored a total of 13,979 votes which is the highest number of lawful votes cast and was declared winner.

He defeated his closest rival, Mr Folahan ADENIYI of the All Progressives Congress who polled a total of 5,812 votes.

OSBC News reporter Adeyemi Aboderin who monitored the event reported that the announcement led to a wild jubilation by members of the PDP who had thronged the Collation centre in anticipation of the announcement.
