
Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has expressed joy that the food scheme has impacted positively on the lives of the people of the state.
Oyetola stated this during the flag off of the 16th edition of the OSUN FOOD SUPPORT SCHEME which held earlier this week at the Local Government Service Commission Hall , Government Secretariat , Abere ,Osogbo.
Performing the ceremony, the State Governor Oyetola who was represented by the Secretary to the state Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji promised that the project and other people-focused schemes of his administration would continue uninterrupted till the end of his term in office
He said he is fulfilled that about half a million vulnerable among the populace have benefited directly from the food scheme while several thousands who depend on the direct beneficiaries have also benefited.
According to him , the State economy has also been reflated through the project as farmers , food processors, transporters, printers and many other professionals are deliberately patronised to support production, commerce and trade.
He advised the youth of the state to engage in productive ventures particularly agriculture promising that his administration is ever ready to encourage them through patronage and provision of technical input to make such ventures self sustainable.
Also speaking, the commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties, Engineer Olalekan Abdulrahman Badmus expressed appreciation to the Governor for his unrelenting passion towards making life better for the people.
He stressed that since April last year , the State Government has not failed to put smiles on the faces of thirty thousand vulnerable citizens by distributing five kilos of food stuff to them to make their lives better Over four hundred and eighty thousand vulnerable people have benefited.
