Osun Governor, Adeleke Freezes State Accounts, Reverses Some Policies

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed all the operational bank account of State to be frozen till further notice. The directive was contained in his augural speech after being sworn in on Sunday
He also reversed policies introduced by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola and vowed to review all appointments by his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola since July 17th 2022 when the election was held.

According to him: “Under my watch, I will correct past injustice, corrupt acts or policies by previous administration which are against the collective interest of our people.”

He gave an Executive Order to reverse the policies of Aregbesola, which recognised Osun State as State of Osun.

He also announced that the slogan of the State will no longer be ‘State of Virtue’ but ‘State of Living Spring’.

Sen. Adeleke also promised to be people’s governor and assured the people of Osun of his readiness to meet their expectations as the new administration berths.

“Let me state here that from the education, health, mining sectors, agriculture, road infrastructure and supply of potable water, let it be known to all that it is no longer going to be business as usual.

“And, I repeat, it is no longer business as usual.

“Our administration will demonstrate a high sense of urgency, transparency, justice and innovation to tackle and solve the problems of poverty, illiteracy, disease, and poor infrastructure.

“Your Governor will be a people’s Governor.

“I will be accessible, responsive, consultative and proactive in handling small and big matters of State Governance,” said.
