Osun Govt shuts down Higher institutions in Ilesha

Governor, state of Osun Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has ordered the closure of three higher institutions of learning, the Osun State College of Education, Ilesa, the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa and the Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke, following the unwarranted destruction of public property by irate youth in Ilesa.

 According to a statement by chief press secretary to the governor, Mr. Adeniyi Adesina, Mr. Oyetola described the disturbance of the peace in Ilesa as uncalled for and condemned the action.

He warned that the government would not hesitate to take further drastic action when necessary in order to protect lives and properties.

The governor also frowned at the physical attack on journalists on legitimate assignment whose equipment were also destroyed by the protesters.

He assured citizens of the state that the government is on top of the security situation in Ilesa and in all parts of the state.
