Osun State Government withdraws Suit against Facebook False Information writer

Though arrested and tried for cases relating to contravening section 12 and 13 of the state of Osun Infectious Diseases Emergency Preventions Regulations 2020 as well as peddling false news on social media, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has ordered the withdrawal of the case against one Mr Saheed Akinloye.

If found guilty the said Saheed Akinloye would have bagged a seven year jail term.

State of Osun attorney general and commissioner for Justice, Mr Olufemi Akande, who disclosed this while speaking with OSBC News said sections 12 and 13 of the state of Osun Infectious Diseases Emergency Prevention Regulations 2020 prohibit the spread of false news through the media.

    He appreciated the magnanimity of Governor Oyetola in getting the first culprit freed in the spirit of brotherhood.

   The Commissioner for Justice maintained that henceforth anybody caught in the Act Risk a seven years imprisonment, and warned against peddling of unfounded information.
